Tony Romo has plenty of time for golf these days.
The Dallas Cowboys quarterback turned CBS broadcaster jumped back into the spotlight this week, taking the course at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton alongside two-time U.S. Open winner Bryson DeChambeau for a round of ‘Break 50,′ a game featured on DeChambeau’s YouTube channel.
While the conversations between the two stuck mostly to golf while the pairing attempted to post a massively low score while playing from the front tees, DeChambeau did sneak in a football question to the four-time Pro Bowler when he asked what his favorite moment of celebration was from his entire career.
In June, DeChambeau had a signature moment in his own career winning his second U.S. Open crown at Pinehurst No. 2, the same course and tournament fellow former SMU golfer Payne Stewart won in 1999.

While Romo ultimately fell short of ever winning a Super Bowl with the Cowboys, the postseason did lend a few moments of joy over his 14-year career.
“We’re against the Lions in 2014, in the playoffs. And I remember walking out to the field with, like, 7-8 minutes to go, and I can remember when I was a kid in 2007 against the Giants, and the feelings were so different,” Romo said. “You knew now that you know the game at that point. But we’re going against the No. 1 defense in the league, which is never what you want to do or who to go against in a playoff game.
“I just remember thinking like, man, I wish I knew what I know now back then, because in ‘07 we had a great team, and we lost to the Giants. And that one (against Detroit), we went out there, we went down and I threw a touchdown to Terrance Williams in the back of the end zone late in the game. And I just remember, I threw it, and I’m down on the ground, and I’m just right there, and I’m just like … (waving his arms).”
DeChambeau: “Hitting the ground.”
Romo: “And I’m just sitting there. It’s just you thinking about your whole career, your life, everything and family, everyone who has been a part of it. It was just a cool moment.”

The run through this particular golf course with Romo served multiple purposes for DeChambeau.
The former SMU star recorded some top tier content for his channel, and he also got another walk around the course he will be playing later this month when Maridoe Golf Club hosts the LIV Golf team championship from Sept. 20-22.
Those with a close eye can spot tents and viewing areas for fans under construction for the event, as the round with Romo was recorded earlier this month.
Romo, meanwhile, is trying PGA Tour qualifying again, according to the Associated Press. He has signed up for the Q-school pre-qualifier — the first of four stages — in Newton, Kansas, on Sept. 18-20.
